Latin Confederation's Prison Facility

Here's a new addition to the Latin Confederation's tech tree: the Prison Facility. By sending the prisoners you captured with Drakuvs into this building you will acquire additional infantry tech and resources. Ares DLL 'reverse engineering' logic allows you to send captured infantry here and gain the ability to train them from Barracks. However, if you lose this structure or if it gets infiltrated by a spy, you will lose all the acquired technology. Artwork by The_4SG.Latin Confederation's Prison Facility
Here's a new addition to the Latin Confederation's tech tree: the Prison Facility. Enhancements to the 'King of the Hill' mode in Mental Omega 3.0 will include replacement of the Doomsday Device with a Psychic Beacon. Once you manage to hold it until it's activated, everything that belongs to your enemies will be captured, making you the winner. This change allows us to get rid of the performance problem of the Doomsday Device upon its activation. Also, unlike the current implementation, you and your allies will not be affected by the game ending superweapon, making a team victory possible.Psychic Beacon in KOTH Mode

A new Mental Omega 3.0 game mode will be available in Beta Revision 2. 'Petrowar', a spiritual successor to 'Megawealth' from Red Alert 2, will have players vying for control of indestructible Oil Derricks instead of ore in order to maintain an economical advantage. Thanks to Ares 0.6 and its 'Returnable=yes' tag, these Oil Derricks will return to neutral ownership if a player who captured them is defeated or quits the game. The same effect is now applied to the Psychic Beacon in KOTH mode. Here's a preview of new mission loading screens. This one's for Allied Act One Mission 1: Red Dawn Rising We won't be including unit cameos on these, because in 3.0 all cameos are PCX files which use their color palettes to the maximum and they'd make the loading screens look bad (they're limited to 256 colors). You asked and we (finally) listened. A new skirmish/multiplayer game mode in Mental Omega 3.0 Beta Revision 2 will allow you to construct all subfaction technology regardless of which subfaction you choose. Complete Allied, Soviet or Epsilon arsenal will be at your disposal in this mode. On a less related note - while some Command & Conquer online services are going down soon, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge and Mental Omega will not be affected. We still recommend using CnCNet to play Mental Omega on multiplayer: http://mentalomega.com/online Unholy Alliance is still in, although it is now renamed to AllTech.Game Mode: MixTech

Another addition to the Latin Confederation's arsenal in Mental Omega Beta Revision 2 is the Smoke Turret, which decreases the amount of damage enemy units can deal. Here's another new Mental Omega map, created by OmegaBolt of YR Red-Resurrection fame. This map, called "Resurrection Bolt (4vs1)", is a naval-type Fortress mode map in which the player in the middle has to defend himself against amphibious & naval attacks from all sides as well as take out his enemies one by one.Map: Resurrection Bolt (4vs1)

The giant ore pit is covered in snow and has become "Ore Pit K (2-8)". In Mental Omega 3.0 Beta Revision 2 all 'King of the Hill' mode maps are alternate-theater versions of fan-favourite maps with a capturable indestructible Psychic Beacon in the center, which grants the owner absolute victory if he manages to hold it long enoughMap: Ore Pit K (2-8)

Allied Structures Update

In Beta Revision 2 of Mental Omega 3.0 the method of reaching higher technology tiers is modified. After you construct the Refinery and Power Plant, you can build the Airforce Command HQ & one of three special buildings which are different depending on which subfaction you use. Each of these three buildings grants you access to a special unit and a set of support powers unique for the subfaction. Additionally, to reach full T3 technology you'll require both Allied Tech Center and one of these special buildings. There are still some objects which are granted by building Allied Tech Center alone, more info in the changelog: http://mentalomega.com/changelog United States: Mercury Uplink (Mercury Strike, Target Painter, access to Warhawk and Drop Control upgrade for ACHQ) Euro Alliance: Shield Command (Force Shield, Lightning Rod, access to Mirage Tank) Pacific Front: Robot Ops Center (Zephyrobot, Tengu Strike, access to Zephyr Artillery) The Drop Control upgrade for Airforce Command HQ is unique to the United States and grants them access to Airborne and Bloodhounds. The Coordnode replaces the Comet Fence for Euro Alliance. It is a special structure that boosts the firepower of defenses nearby by 10%. We have created and released 36 singleplayer missions and 18 cooperative maps for Mental Omega 3.0 Act One. For Act Two, there is another set of 36 singleplayer missions and additional coops planned. LordCesare, the mapper, has already prepared over 40 high quality mission layouts for possible use, meaning that the mission scripter won't have to create the maps unless he wants to expand or modify the existing ones. We are looking for additional mission scripters to accelerate the development of Act Two. Maps with complete layouts are ready and available for scripting, so if you'd like to participate in completing new missions or even make a single contribution to Mental Omega, please message Speeder or write an e-mail to mental.omega.apyr@gmail.com Experience in Red Alert 2 mission design with the FinalAlert 2 or FinalSun Map Editor is required, obviously.
